  • Only on the PS3 - The award-winning development team leverages the processing power and technology of PlayStation 3 system to make God of War III one of the most-graphically advanced next gen titles available, with even the dramatic cut screens running off the in-game engine.
  • Groundbreaking Depth of Scale - Kratos will explore areas up to 4 times larger than those found in God of War II, as well as carve through entire armies while navigating on the back of Titans - living, moving, breathing levels as tall as the Empire State Building.
  • Realism - Players will battle in detailed and unique 3D worlds lit by thousands of dynamic lights and textures with quadruple the resolution, which allows for realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore.
  • Signature Gameplay - Brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds, and a compelling and satisfying ending to Kratos’ epic story.
  • Sophisticated Storyline - The God of War III storyline is the epic conclusion to the trilogy; the storyline will be told in a way that is true to traditionalist roots in Greek mythology, from moral consequences to brutal battles against the gods.
  • Ridable Creatures - Several of the menacing creatures of Greek mythology in God of War III can now be manipulated against their will, as Kratos uses them to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies, reveal puzzles and secrets, and as tools of complete annihilation.
  • New Weapons and Combat System - New deadly weapons such as the Cestus — powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength — and other brutal instruments of war that will allow Kratos to learn ruthless new techniques such as grappling with enemies and launching explosive wall-to-ground attacks.
  • Lighting Technologies - The dynamic lighting solution employed in GOW III is only feasible through the computing power provided by the Cell SPUs. For example, using the High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDRL) technology, the camera – when using Krato’s sightline - will emulate the human retina, causing players to feel a sharp brightness when Kratos exits a dark area and enters a sunlit area, similar to how the human eye would need to adjust.

4 out of 5 stars AN ACTUAL REIVIEW   March 20, 2010
Amon (Nowhere)

First off I have played and beaten the other 2 games and just beat this one on Thursday, March 18th. The graphic here are amazing ,similar to but not exactly like MGS4, I'm only comparing graphics here. I'm not saying one is better then the other. The game play isn't groundbreaking but is fairly simple and easy to get into.

There are a few puzzles here and there but nothing that should leave you completely stuck. There are also a few parts where the camera angle is a bit awkward but these parts are too far and few in between to really bother much in my opinion. This game has a great storyline AND IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED THE OTHER 2. Do not get this game if you haven't played the other 2, I can not stress this enough. As other people have pointed out this is a very bloody, gory game so if for some reason you can't handle that kind of stuff don't buy it, its been very bloody since the beginning .I actually liked Kratos in the other 2 games but found him to be a bit arrogant in this game. The problem with this game is the ending. This game is being portrayed as the conclusion of the God of War franchise and of Kratos but I still have a whole bunch of questions that haven't been answered like what happened exactly to Pandora? Why didn't it work after she went into the fire? What happened to all the titans besides Gia?Why was Athena willing to kill Zeus all of a sudden? and a few more. In my opinion a great conclusion leaves all questions answered and sadly this doesn't do that. Overall its a good fun game and has high replayabilty but again I still have a few questions and that why it a lost star.

AGAIN DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE OTHER 2

5 out of 5 stars Story Driven and VIOLENT   March 20, 2010
Felix (Hayward, CA)
This game is something you'd only find one time in your lifetime. It's just as solid as the previous God of War games, the gameplay is alot simpler and the combo mechanics are alot more fluid.

The game is kinda short though, but making it any longer would drag the game. (God of War I was the most difficult though.)

I love this game, bought the Ultimate Edition. Hopefully this game makes GOTY, if it does hopefully the Last Guardian takes that position.

5 out of 5 stars Bloody action-filled epicness   March 20, 2010
Kayleigh Fay (Scotland)
I generally dont write reviews for things on amazon but feel the need to since trolls are putting low reviews for what appears to be just spite. I must say this game is worth every cent. Its non-stop action that gets your blood pumping from start to finish. This is my first purchase in the GOW series but now am inclined to buy the rest. Ignore the trolls and get this game asap.

5 out of 5 stars Best game ever!!!   March 20, 2010
R. Anderson
I've never written a review before, but this game was just too good not to. Granted there were some spots where it could have been better but where God of War 3 shines, it does so brightly.

If you haven't played the first 2 games you, probably should because then the storyline will add up.
Don't play this game if you don't like blood, sex, or anything else like that. Honestly though, don't play period if that bothers you because "E" rated video games aren't very common anymore.

But, never has there ever been a game that had such a good storyline, graphics, characters, I mean everything. The boss battles are epic, the graphics are amazing, the storyline so intense that you almost feel like Kratos. In my opinion, this game is unbeatable in every way as far as single players go. No game company will ever top this game or try for that matter because of how awesome it is. It's probably one of the few games that's worth $60, plain and simple.
